Literacy Theory

My work with early literacy learners is based on Literacy Processing Theory. The Principles of Literacy Processing Theory involves the reading of text as a complex problem-solving process approach that guides students, who come to literacy with varying knowledge to construct their own understandings. Reading and writing  for these students shows up as reciprocal and interrelated processes with students reading and writing continuous text.  As students read, the continuous process changes over time. No two students are alike; they each take different paths to literacy learning.
